University Science ParkUniversity of Žilina in Žilina

The idea of ​​creating the University Science Park of the University of Žilina in Žilina (USP UNIZA) was established in 2010, when the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic realized the need to build institutions equipped with state-of-the-art research infrastructure and experts in key research areas. Also, these will influence improving the Slovak economy and increasing the competitiveness of regions by supporting applied research and innovation.

120 – 140 newly created jobs, including positions of external staff, doctoral students, postdoctoral students as well as top researchers from abroad

Total spending: 44,161, 344.21 EUR, of which the eligible project costs are 41,069,161.76 EUR.

  • 2 buildings: total area of nearly 5300 m2 (floor area approx. 3550 m2).

  • 4 research areas: intelligent transportation, intelligent manufacturing, advanced materials and technologies, information and communication technologies.

  • 15 top research labs.
